At North Rd, we strive to provide a positive nurturing environment, where children can develop and enhance their intellectual, emotional, spiritual and physical needs. Children choose where in the classroom they want to work and move about freely, choosing activities. Students use and manipulate materials that appeal to the senses, is purposeful in nature, and practice real life experiences. The materials are self-teaching and through practice and repetition of these materials and activities, the children develop concentration and master their work. Multiple age groups help the children to learn from each other while practicing to become leaders. Children become academically prepared by working with materials in the areas of Math, Language, Geography and Culture.
