Used to be my favorite place!

I used to love the Tea Infusion, whenever I went out for lunch it was there! The service was great, food was amazing in taste and price and they had as much tea as I could ever imagine! But since the management changed it has gone downhill very quickly. The first time I went since the change I ordered a smoked salmon sandwich on a croissant, although the sandwich was good I found a large piece of Yellow plastic in it from what I can only assume was a part of the mayo or horseradish bottle cap, they gave us a small discount. The second time/last time I went I ordered the same thing, the sandwich was good, but my lunch partner’s soup was cold and had a large piece of what we hoped was an onion peel in it (it kind of looked like a piece of saran wrap). Her Tuna sandwich was 70% Mayonnaise and the bread was half the thickness it used to be. The service was horrible, we got our lunch (soup and sandwich) at 1:20 and the waitress never came back, we were going to order some dessert and some more hot water for our tea but we didn’t get the chance because we ran out of time waiting for the waitress. My lunch finally came to an end at 2pm and we never got the cheque so we went to the counter. They couldn’t find our waitress or our order and at this point I was getting impatient because my lunch was over and they didn’t have anything prepared. They finally found our order in the garbage and added it up, our waitress passed by us without even a glance or an apology, we paid and we left. My lunch partner and I are very sad to say that it will be a long while until we order food there again.

What a treat!

I think the title of the review says it all, or almost. What a treat this place is! There can't be more than a dozen tables inside, with a couple more outside, and there were plenty of folks already enjoying the atmosphere when I arrived for a light lunch. On arrival you are greeted with GENUINE smiles from the courteous staff who obviously love working here, and a free small sample of tea. My sample was Lapsang Souchong... a bit too smokey for my taste, but interesting none the less. I ordered one of the lunch specials, Moroccan chicken and couscous soup, an egg salad sandwich, and from the rather extensive tea menu I chose the Assam Borengajuli tea. What can I say? It was lovely; a nice, light lunch, delicious soup (although I did have to add a bit of pepper for taste) and an excellent egg salad sandwich. I don't think I've ever considered an egg salad sandwich to be "refreshing" before, but this one was! It wasn't really anything special but it was good. Nice light whole-wheat bread, some nice crispy iceberg lettuce and egg salad that wasn't overpowered by the mayonnaise... or whatever was used. It was perfect! And the tea, well... I had never heard of "Assam Borengajuli" before, but I'll be danged if it isn't my new favorite! Absolutely delicious tea. For no particular reason, the word "genteel" springs to mind... A very nice experience over all, and I'm sure I will return. I'd recommend it to anyone.
