They wanted to charge 1.50 extra to put the chop suey in a differnt container. Useless service

As far as I know Hoi Pun is the only Chinese Food...

As far as I know Hoi Pun is the only Chinese Food in Placentia, so there is not much competition. The food is as good as you would expect, but nothing more. If you're in the mood for Canadian Chinese food Hoi Pun will satisfy you. The decor is very nice (their Christmas decorations add a nice touch!) and the restaurant is clean, so it makes a good place to eat in. The won ton soup was excellent. The lemon chicken and chicken fried rice was good. The chicken chop suey did not have any bean sprouts.. just celery and carrots, which was a little disappointing.

Best Chinese Food

But the restaurant is located in Placentia, Newfoundland, A small community just outside the St.Johns area. Great food, Great service,Nice friendly staff , that serve you with a smile.

A friend and I stumbled upon this place one night as we were driving around and even though we came in close to closing time the pleasant man behind the counter was still very happy to serve us. When we left we had forgotten our eggrolls and he even ran outside after us in the snow to bring them to us. Excellent customer service. I will definitely return to this place. Read more
