Horrible, was turned away because a party came in on the patio so the staff & kitchen must concentrate on them and cant worry about people at tables. Horrible to see a small buissness turn away customers.
"Perfection" is exactly how I would describe our experience and the meals at Allegro Fine Foods. Allegro is by far the best GEM in all of Bolton. Everything about Allegro is excellent - the service, ambiance, wine, presentation, and most importantly - the food! Try it! You'll love it!
Allegro is the best food in Bolton - everything from the fish, the pastas and even the pizzas are so very good. Have been many times and never ate a bad meal!
If you have never been to Allegro please try it out. I had the Lemon Shrimp Linguini, it was out of this world! It was so tasty, I could have licked the plate.
I am a repeat customer and have always been impressed with the menu, service and atmosphere. Owners and staff are fantastic. They go out of their way to satisfy you. I recommend this Italian Cuisine to everyone.
I want to say that their goal is to "Nickel and dime you", but it would amount to so many nickels and dimes that it doesn't seem appropriate.
My siblings and I took my Dad there for Father's Day and did not have a good experience. From the second we sat down we were brought bottles of carbonated and plain water that no one asked for and before they were even done 2 more were brought and added to the table, we assumed this we just service that you get at a good Italian restaurant. We then ordered some garlic bread. After burning the first order we finally got our bread and we got extremely thin pieces of rock hard over cooked bread with a little garlic butter on it. We then got on to the meal. I ordered a main course with chicken as the meat and when I asked what it came with the waitress told me either salad or pasta. I figured being at an Italian restaurant I chose pasta.
The bill came and this is where we were shocked. It was close to $400. We looked in detail to try and figure out how it got so high and were shocked to see that for 2 orders of basically crackers with butter we were charged $24 and for 4 bottles of water that we didn't ask for we were charged $20. $44 ($50 including tax, but not tip) for water and garlic bread is obscene. I honestly doubt that you could go to any other restaurant in Canada and pay $50 for garlic bread and water. Then I saw that my over priced meal had a $7 charge added for the pasta side. I guess my meal didn't "come with" pasta. I wonder how much 20 pieces of penne pasta costs to make? 15 cents?
Anyway, those were the highlights from the bill, throughout it we were nickeled and dimed to the max. If the meals tasted absolutely amazing it would have gone from a terrible dining experience to just a bad one, but it wasn't.
Even though we now live in the Bolton area we will not be going back.
This restaurant is one of the best restaurants I have ever been too and that's including restaurants from my travels from Rome, Sicily and the Amalfi coast. Its authentic Italian food reminds me of back home in Rome and the quality of the food is always fresh and delicious.
The servers and owner are nothing but attentive and very nice! The murals on the outside wall and also inside are a complete change from all these cookie cutter restaurants out there and it gives you a sense of homeyness.
I've been to this restaurant many many times and I have had most everything on the menu and never have been disappointed. I recommend the linguine portofino :)
They also have a massive patio and live entertainment on weekends and its always a joy to sit and relax and have a taste of Toronto located in Bolton.
The wine list is large and if they don't have a wine listed just ask for your favorite wine and they will bring it in for you next time you come.....how cool is that!!!
Overall I rate this restaurant 5/5 and would recommend it to everyone!!
Standard Italian, a bit pricy given the portions and quality. Service is good but food was bland. Salads and soups mediocre, should have sent back massively overdressed ceasar. Tiny veg with mains. Won't return.
Too expensive for what they were serving, I found the noise level and rumble from the highway disturbing, I guess we should of sat in the back room. The smell and noise from the in room kitchen is a draw back. The wine list was nothing special and this is why we went there after reading an on line article. Windows needed cleaning and a sign on the front door telling clients where to enter would of been nice.
Wow!! This place is a hidden treasure. We couldn't believe how amazing our food was, how nice the staff was, and the best part of it was the open concept kitchen depending where your seated you can watch your food being prepared....our food was so amazingly hot and tasty. This place can be compared to some of the best restaurants of Toronto if not better. I'm glad we stopped and gave it a try. Thanks Allegro for a memorable evening!
This place was pretty good...10 years ago. The food's pretty good. Standard Italian. Its the crumbling decor that really gets to me. Honestly, the awful washed murals on the exterior are an eyesore. And the bathroom really needed to be changed and clean.
Also, the waitstaff seemed like a gaggle of teenagers on friday night, horsing around and acting trashy. Our waitress was airhead as they come.
Needs a total overhaul.
Not recommended.
We've been there over a dozen times and we are never disappointed. The food is superb and so is the staff.
Summertime has been great with live entertainment.
Great food, great atmosphere, great service. A bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. Have dined there at least 5 times and will most definitely return. 2 thumbs up.
