Opened in 1992 by owner Carol Hancock, The White Rabbit Gift Shoppe was originally an art folk store that focused on selling supplies and giving lessons to locals. The store managed to foster a number of loyal artists and enthusiasts, but Carol noticed that the gift items started to take over.
The store slowly shifted its focus, but kept that important connection to the community. “We’ve created a valued clientele of loyal customers,” says store manager Karen Evans (pictured below). “They feel part of something and I think it’s because we care about them and our products. It’s all about that personal attention and touch.”
