amazing

I love this place been going here for years and the food is always top notch, prices are great and the wait staff is amazing! The bread they bring out before the dinner is delicious, and the atmosphere is beautiful! Dim, candle on the table, nice calm music playing its very romantic and won't empty your wallet!

Over all: Adequate

It is a nice place to goto for a Birthday, Date or something like that. Not an once a month restaurant. I found the prices on the high side but good food. The atmoshere was good a little more space between table would be nice. The Sevices was good, nothing outstanding but she was busy and working hard. I would go back give it a 2nd try.

Always a great experience

You will always get a great meal here. What more can I say, good times from start to finish. The place was fairly busy and that added to the atmosphere. Flower pot bread and cinnamon butter, the best

going downhill

This used to be my favorite restaurant, always had great service and great food, it just isn't the same anymore. Service was good to start and then our server simply dissappeared. MY boyfriend ordered pizza which wasn't bad, however it was not hot when it arrived. I ordered cheese ravioli, at least that is what the menu said, all I got were 5 pieces of dough that didn't even have a teaspoon of cheese in them. As I stated I used to love del dente....next time we go out for a nice dinner it will not be here.

Not as upscale as it claims

We tried this place for our anniversary. A change from the regular chain restaurants- a different kind of chain restaurant. The best part of our evening was our server, Amy. She was lovely in every way and perfect. She made the evening for us. The food, however, was just so-so. I thought the calamari was a bit over-sold as was the boconcini salad. Neither was terrifically original and both were quite pricey. The bread was nice, but quite heavy and if it were not for the flavoured butters, would be completely without charm. I ordered the eggplant which was ok but would have been nicer with a lighter cheese or breading topping. A pile of mozza melted on top wasn't what I was expecting. Hubby had the pizza. It was ok but not to my taste. The dining room was dimly lit but I suspect that is to distract you from the fact that the table tops are all chipped and worn. We had to sit next to one another as the corner we were sat in did not have enough room for the chair that was backed into a booth on one side. We may return but we would definitely do it on a budget as our dinner was 75 dollars with only two beers for beverages. Maybe we'll go back just for dessert. But, only if Amy is serving that day.

Excellent atmosphere, food pretty OK

My wife and I went to Del Dente's a couple of weeks ago to give it a try. We had been to Charcoal Steak House several times (which is upstairs from DD and always loved it) so we thought we would experience it. We arrived about 45 minutes early as it was very busy on a Saturday night so we decided to have a drink at Martini's (their lounge upstairs) then our hostess came and told us our table was ready right on schedule. As soon as we sat down, we loved the atmosphere. Something very comfortable but yet modern and upscale and our server was very friendly. I ordered the saganaki cheese appetizer and a deluxe pizza. The appetizer was delicious and thoroughly enjoyable and the pizza was about as good as anything I would get at a decent pizzeria. Not memorable but good enough for me. My wife had the spinach dip and pasta and she also enjoyed it. We both said after our evening there we would definitely go back. All in all,

Adequate across the board... but worth it?

I really don't know what to think of Del Dente. It almost comes off as a slightly upscale East Side Mario's, with a menu that attempts to straddle authenticity, creativity and mass appeal. The ideas are good, but the end result just doesn't quite deliver: take the strawberry and bocconcini salad, for example. Great concept, nice dressing, fresh ingredients: but then the bocconcini itself is too cold and hasn't been marinading in the dressing itself (i.e. hard and bland), the strawberries and cheese are too big, meaning that you can't get all of the elements within any single bite, and the kicker? $11 for a small bowl. The value simply isn't there. My tortellini was covered in cheese and baked: how can this go wrong? When there's simply *too much* cheese -- a technique I expect from Crabby Joes. The rose sauce was underwhelming, when it should pop with simultaneous richness and brightness. My partner's lasagne, on the other hand, was very well received. "Excellent," he tells me: spicy, flavourful, perfectly cooked, well balanced with many complementary elements. Ultimately, what really makes us hesitant about this restaurant is the value. A nice meal for maybe $50, but for $70? We expect more. So what do we make of all this? I don't know -- is it worth another go? Probably... but we're not ordering any appetizers!

1st time and I hope not the last

There were little things that bugged me like not having a wireless debit machine, the table we were at I was sitting with my back to a large group of people that kept bumping my chair do to the tight space the chair itself was shaky, really nothing major that would wreck a super evening. The food was excellent, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was good. In hind sight maybe I should have tipped the hostess sitting us for a different table. I hope to return.

Excellent experience

My boyfriend and I went here for my birthday a few months ago and had a great time. I ordered the stuffed eggplant, he got the 10oz striploin and we split a bottle of Beaujolais. The only down moment was when the server tried to correct me on the wine by naming it by location rather than by the type of wine. The bread and spread appetizer that is provide automatically is wonderful, but we were not given additional spreads with our second loaf of bread, which led us to have to stretch the last bits out as far as possible. Both entrees were delicious, and my eggplant-disliking boyfriend even enjoyed the bite of my meal he tried. I found that mine was exactly the right size for me, and my boyfriend was also satsfied with how much he had to eat. Because it was my birthday (something my boyfriend stated when he made the reservation), we were surprised with a dessert of brownies and champagne punch, which was a wonderful finishing touch to the evening. Del Dente offers a pretty good variation on the typical Italian/Mediterranean offerings and while it wouldn't be my go-to choice for every occasion, it is a nice place to go once every year or two.

one of my favourite retaurants, and amazing service everytime! (they bring you drink refills before you even realize your drink is empty! and very very freindly) plus you get free bread at the beggining of your meal that comes in a flower pot, and it comes with herb/garlic butter, hummas, and cinnamon butter (my fav!, but the other 2 are also amazing!), i would definatly recommend the pasta primavera with the cream sauce! delitious! and for desert (even if your full you must try this!): raspberry creme brulee...one word, "mmmm!" p.s. dont let the parking stop you from coming here! lol

This is a classic go to when I'm meeting friends or with my husband. the food is good, and the price is reasonable. they have a great wine menu, and i recommend striking out and trying something different. I have been going for quite a while, and i think the menu is due for a refresh though. try not to over eat on the fantastic bread with dips brought to your table so you are full when your appetizer and entree arrives.

We really enjoy Del Dente. The menu has a nice variety, and the food is always tasty, just enough, and consistent. Decent wine selection as well. Good choice for a dark, quiet and enjoyable pasta dinner.

Nice to go to for a date or something but the food is weak. You go there because it is nice and they don't serve dirty food. I will never crave the place but I will not turn it down either.

My fiance took me here for my birthday (again, we always go here). Food is good, but I was a bit disappointed as the menu hasn't changed hardly at all. I know this can be a good thing-but I have tried almost everything already! We had calamari to start, and then I had pasta with spicy lamb meatballs and mushrooms, and my fiance had the seafood pasta. All dishes were good. To drink I had a cosmo, margarita, and fiance had a wheat beer. He made the reservation online, and stated it was my birthday. Last year, he did the same thing and our watiress offered to bring us a special treat-we said we were too full. Instead, she brought us two glasses of champagne. I was so impressed and happy. This year however, nothing. I was disappointed in their attention to detail. And it was a slow night.

It has a very nice, cozy but classy atmosphere. It is slightly too dim, though. When I went with my Dad he had a hard time reading the menu. The fresh baked bread they bring you is very good. They also have some really yummy frozen drinks. I always order the small pasta and it is plenty. I have ordered the tetrazzini, tortellini and limoncello shrimp and enjoyed them all. Once I had the seafood pasta, which was good, but I ended up being sick that night. I called to let them know and they said no one else had reported becoming sick, so it probably wasn't caused by the pasta but they gave me a $25 gift certificate anyways.

Our first visit here was our anniversary. The restaurant wasn't too busy so we got a table fairly quickly, without any reservations. Our meal started off with some freshly-cooked bread in clay pots. The bread gets served with three different butters, my favorite being the herbs one. ( There is also apple&cinnamon and red pepper.) For meal selection there is ample pasta and non-pasta selections; however, it's a bit skimpy on vegetarian selection. Hesitantly, I ordered their Stuffed Eggplant (I am not a big fan of eggplants). My boyfriend ordered a chicken dish I believe. The Stuffed Eggplant was scrumptious. It was half an eggplant stuffed with barley, mushrooms, peppers, onions, cheese and what not. I loved it. My boyfriend was not fond of the chicken-- it wasn't fully cooked. We complained and the manager (or the owner; it was a lady who was going around asking folks how their meal was) quickly offered to replace his meal, despite the fact that he had finished everything else on the plate but the chicken. When our bills came the restaurant didn't charge my boyfriend for either of his meals-- not the chicken entree or the large plate of pasta that it was replaced with. I have been back twice or thrice since, and each time I am impressed with their flawless service. They truly never say no to any request you have and go out of their way to make sure you have a spectacular evening.

I would highly recommend the restaurant for anyone with allergies. They were very accommodating with my girlfriend who has very wide ranging allergies and very attentive to every detail. The wine selection was wonderful and the lamb truly was amazing! My only complaint was that where we were sitting was quite cool and the ladies were in their jackets/sweaters.

Fave Restaurant!

This is a great restaurant! First of all the food was delicious, fast, and fresh! The portions were quite generous, I almost didn't want dessert (almost)! The Cheesecake was DELICIOUS!! Our server was nice and polite, she really seemed to care if we had a good meal or not. The restaurant was very cute and seemed very italian! I loved it! Overall this was a fabulous restaurant! P.s. I agree with AmandaWilke the parking was extremely tight, try to bring a smaller vehicle!

Nice place, good food

We liked this place, which was important since we were celebratting a family event. The server was very friendly and made us welcome; he was a little slow though, and missed a few minor things. He was good about us taking our time -- we're into the slow food thing and were there for 3 hours. The place was very busy when we arrived -- it's noisy when full! Emptied out quite quickly though. Nice Italian theme decor -- the audio Italian lessons in the bathroom are a funny touch. Food was quite good -- not excellent, but tasty and fresh. Salads were the exception -- all were excellent. My entree was very good, and the desserts were very good. We'll go back, maybe not on a Sat night again though...
