Im so glad we found this amazing Indian restaurant in our neighbourhood! Their concept is brilliant, the staff is super friendly and the food is delicious! Well be back for sure and we definitely recommend the restaurant to anyone!
An excellent place to dine. Quality cuisine and great service.
Great food. They catered a small 40 person party at my house and it was fantastic. Food, service and cost all A+. Well definitely use them again
Nirvana the Flavors of India catered my wedding reception (a Punjabi wedding for 550 people) at the end of June 2013. Unfortunately, they were the only vendor hired during my 1 week long wedding who caused problems for us and did not do what was expected. They did not bring enough food to feed our guests, did not serve finger foods as we agreed upon, forgot a couple of a dishes in our contract (which they emailed us) and did not serve dinner and appetizers at the times and duration we discussed with them. They also did not check when trays were empty, leaving both rice and naan empty for long time (even though family members continued to remind them that they were empty). My mother and uncle had to continue to remind the chefs when we wanted dinner served and when dishes were empty and how to speed up their cooking time to keep up (ie. pouring 1 gulab jaman at a time in a large dish is not fast enough). Upon a meeting with the owner and key staff after the event, the owner (who is not often involved in the managing of the restaurant) did apologize and take responsibility. However, the manager (Karan) and chefs who were responsible for our event did not apologize and were quite rude and did attempt to deflect blame. Nor did we ever get a good explanation from anyone of why they did not meet to plan and organize the food for our event as they claim they do for others - especially since the manager (who is in charge and says he works 7 days a week) kept his eyes down and did not speak much during the meeting. Not sure why there was a lack of service and professionalism but my family has thrown many parties in the past and were very embarrassed that some of our guests did not have food to eat. I hope this helps and is a word of caution before having Nirvana The Flavors of India cater an event for you.

I have been to Nirvana a few times. The food is fantastic especially the tandoori platters. I prefer dinner way above the lunch buffet. The atmosphere is great and the service is great. Unsure why there is so many negative reviews. Being Indian this is awesome.
Amazing Food! I just loved Nirvana from the moment we walked in. Great decor. Plush chairs. The service was great with excellent suggestions from the maitre'd. The strawberry lassi was made from real strawberries--Talk about fresh! Try the mutton chops and tandoori prawns. You wont regret it! Nirvana is a great place for fine dining and if you want to impress friends and business associates alike. I think they have a private room as well!
I have been frequenting Nirvana for several years as I work in the area. During lunch or dinner, Nirvana always delivers on top notch service and authentic Indian food. I enjoy their new menu, especially their lamb chops. The rogan josh is an all time favorite of mine as are the koliwada shrimp and fish. They have a great selection of smoothies and non alcoholic drinks, which is great for non-drinkers. However, they have an extensive bar and wine list. The private dining room and over ambience is great for intimate dinners or business meetings. I can't wait for my next meal at Nirvana!
This place is ridiculous. My group decided to visit after the lunch rush slowed down, considering all the terrible reviews about their lack of service, but it didn't make a difference. Management must hire friends/family with little or no experience in serving as the wait times for our drinks and food was ridiculous. By the time our food came, we were on our 2nd drink. We were very disappointed with the (lack) of quality of food as well. We visit Indian restaurants often and this was FAR from 'the best'. Our naan was cold, we received vegetable biriyani instead of with lamb. When we brought it to server's attention, he actually tried to insist I said vegetable. I said regardless, I want what I ordered and figured it would show up on the bill. It didn't - I wouldn't have paid it anyway.
Ive been visiting Nirvana since they opened and have really enjoyed dining at their establishment. The service is dependable and the food quality meets my high standards on every visit. I was pleased to see that they have introduced a new dinner menu. Their dishes are clean and prepared fresh to your specifications. Their drink menu is great. I'm not heavily into alcohol, so their various smoothies and non alcoholic drinks are wonderful to indulge in. I love their tandoori fish and shrimp. For the daal lovers, try their Nirvana daal!
Nirvana has the tastiest food in Mississauga! It has a large, decorative environment. The seats are plush and comfortable. The bar is expansive and has great big screen tvs to watch the game. The food is amazing. You can taste the freshness of the incredients and the quality of meat is wonderful. The food is flavorful. I love the variety of cocktails and smoothies. The herbal tea selection is incredible. They must have over 20 different flavors.
Bought a groupon and the restaurant refused to honor it. They told me they didn't have any such groupon - As you can see they are either lying or feel it is not their reponsibility to clarify this with groupon. Thankfully groupon is an awesome company and they will probably return my money. The manager was exceptionally rude and told me that I was probably trying to cheat them because the my groupon didn't even have proper numbers! What a lame and irresponsible place! Avoid!! And the food wasn't anything special but not bad either.
Few years back Nirvana food was excellent. Recently their food quality goes down and I can say grass has a better taste than their food. In two months I went there twice with my friends and order a lunch Buffet. They served on table and trust me very hard to diffentiate the veg dish and chicken dish. It is same gravy in veg. (Allo,Gobhi) dish and chicken dish, no tatst at all and waste money. We thought they improve their quality but their quality is down to worst. I will never go again and never recommend to anyone. during our meal they did not ask for water and did not serve the water at all. We used to do the parties their for 25-30 people. we disapointed very much. Seriously if they want to stay in business then they should improve food quality and service.
I love this place! My friends took me to Nirvana after work and I fell in love! We had these great cocktails at the bar while watching the game on the big screen tvs and moved over to the main dining room for dinner. I'm a picky eater, but the server was able to suggest the perfect entree's. I love their tandoori items. The fish is to die for! Their tandoori mushrooms are soooo succulent. I also tried the rogan josh which is a lamb entree. Let me tell you, this was the most flavorful lamb I have ever eaten. I'm planning on having a party catered by Nirvana. They are a class act all the way!
I never thought Nirvana could get any better, but after introducing their new menu. They have taken classic dishes and provided a modern twist. You can really taste the fresh ingredients and sumptuous flavors. Their new drink menu is fantastic. The wine selection has improved significantly and many can be perfectly paired with their dishes.
So i was refered to this restaurant by many friends who had visit there quite often. So i decided to try it out. We got there a little in the evening and were seated right away. We were asked in about 10-15 minutes what drinks we would like. we still needed more time cause the menu was so long. the wait staff was really nice and even joked about their upcoming menus and that they are gonna be bit longer. we ordered the indian beer cheetah and 2 of their coctails. The paan martini and mango martini were very good. unlike the other comments below i kind of understand why they take their time or sometimes stay away ad dont come up often so that we can enjoy the delacies in piece and not be interuppted every 15 mins. at first we wanted to order just the sizzlers with naan but were told it has no gravy and is dry which we did not knew and was glad that we were told otherwise we'd have trouble. We enjoyed our fish cutlets, noorani seekh for appetizers. we then orderd the chicken parwana which was told by the waiter that it is a little dry and that if we perfer more gravy to take the butter chicken or chicken shai korma. I enjoyed there paneer tikka massala. also with little gravy but still decided to order it which was so mouthwatering. We ordered an onion naan, cheese naan and aloo parantha all very delish. Although their desserts are limited we had the gulab jamuns and a mango cheescake. I loved the feel of the restaurrant and i will even enjoy taking my work mates there for a party. They have a sepearte room for small events. Everyone should go and enjoy it. People have different expectations and these reviews may be up or down. But once you experience it yourself you will be happy. :)
**I find it interesting that many of the positive 'rave' reviews are from accounts with no more than one review...Hmmmmm...** My husband and I went to Nirvana last week for dinner. Upon arrival, the restaurant wasn't very busy at all. Our waiter took approximately 10 minutes to come and take our drink order (yes I timed him...after 5 minutes I start to check my watch). The cocktails were ridiculously overpriced so we ordered some soft drinks. He brought our drinks and did not even ask us if we decided on our order - instead he hurried off. The soft drinks were stale, so we decided to advise the waiter and just ask for water instead. After another 5 minutes the waiter returned to finally take our order, and return the drinks. The food was "okay". We ordered Hot & Sour soup, Chicken Biriyani, Chicken Karahi, Stuffed Naan, and Lachhe dar parantha. The hot & sour soup was WAY too spicy. We love spicy food but the soup was ridiculous. Our water was gone in a few minutes, and we didn't get a refill. It was an uncomfortable meal. Yes they serve the Chicken Biriyani in a cute little pot that is covered with a piece of naan, but it's not that great. I'm not Indian and I have made much better Chicken Biriyani at home from scratch. When I started to scoop out the biriyani, much of the rice was still white. As for the Chicken Karahi, honestly.........it tasted like something from a jar of President's Choice Indian Cuisine. When we got our bill, the waiter tried to keep the soft drinks on there that we had returned. He had to "speak to his manager" about whether or not he could take it off. We will not be returning to Nirvana! It seems they spend more time trying to create an "atmosphere" than paying attention to customer service or the quality of their food.
Nirvana is a must if you love Indian food. Friendly staff will escort you to your table and take your order. While you wait you enjoy a pleasant atmosphere. And then the food arrives. Now, as Indian food lovers know there are many ways a potentially great meal can be ruined. The food can be too spicy, or too cold. The meal can lack flavour. But at Nirvana, none of these scenarios manifest themselves. The food is set down in front of you, steam rising off of it as you dig your spoon in to put some on your plate. Then you take a bite. Close your eyes, chew slowly, and allow the flavours to dance across your tongue as you realize that this is the best Indian food you have ever had. Swallow. Open your eyes and look around the table. Observe everyone's reaction to the food. Then take the next bite. And it is just as good as the first. There is really no better Indian food than what is served at Nirvana. For all the negative reviewers, I highly recommend that you give this place another chance. Nirvana has made several changes over the last couple of years, and each time I go back there are more and more people; an indication that the place is always improving. Trust me on this: Nirvana is one restaurant you don't want to miss.
Best Restaurant Ever!!!! Must go there if you get a chance.... Try their starters they are really good from the tandoor. They have the biggest drink menu i've ever seen.
The best Indian restaurant that i've been to ever in my life. They have great food. Their food actually has flavor in it. Forget about all the other reviews trust me go there and try their food!!!!
