Geoff Tait was sitting on his front porch in Toronto’s Beaches neighborhood in early 2013 doing some late afternoon soul searching. His multi-million dollar golf apparel clothing business (Quagmire/Arnie Wear) had started to fall apart in 2012. The business eventually dissolved and the entrepreneur was left trying to figure out what was next.
Even though Geoff had a couple good job offers — both within and outside of the golf industry — on the table, he knew he still wanted to work for himself. “I didn’t want to start another clothing line because that business is so saturated,” he explains. “I always enjoyed working with Molson and Steamwhistle during my time with Quagmire…that’s where the idea for Triple Bogey Brewing came from. I was the first guy in Canada to market beer directly to the golf industry.”
