Located in the heart of Northern Ontario, halfway between Hearst and Cochrane on Highway 11, the Regional Centre for Cultural Entertainment inc. Kapuskasing is for the community, a unique center of cultural and recreational services in the field. The Center serves an estimated more than 11,397 people francophone population, extending Opasatika in Smooth Rock Falls, including not only the urban population Kapuskasing but also the surrounding villages which have no comparable municipal or community service. Governed by a board of directors composed of nine elected members, supported ten permanent employees, about four hundred volunteers and five hundred and fifty members, the Centre has become, over the years, the pillar of regional Francophonie.
