Marie-Claude Huard knows a lot about cookies. Before becoming involved in Cookie Stefanie, she worked in research and development for 10 years in the cookie industry with her husband, owner of a factory that produces — yes, you've guessed it — cookies.
When she was a partner with Stefanie Poulin, who at the time had two cookie flavours and a few outlets, Marie-Claude's role was to develop the concept of a boutique for the brand, to really nail down a great location. They set up in Old Montreal in November 2012, preparing all of the delicious desserts in the boutique.
On opening day, the shop's entire stock was sold, a promising start that paved the way for the business's future success. Now, in addition to the boutique,Cookie Stefaniehas multiple points of sale, and today can be found in many grocery stores and supermarkets, a sector Marie-Claude would like to continue to develop.
Gluten-free cookies are the house specialty at Cookie Stéfanie. The bakery offers a wide variety of gluten-free products, including cookies, cakes, cupcakes and other sweets, as well as coffee, tea and grilled cheese sandwiches, made with their gluten-free bread. This place is a real treat and worth the trip if you’re in the Old Port.
