Shaughnessy Restaurant is located only minutes from downtown Vancouver, but upon arrival, it's as though you've entered another world. 55 acres of vast year-round gardens, representing the northern and southern hemispheres await you and drench your dining experience in colour and beauty. The renowned VanDusen Botanical Garden is a must see for visitors to Vancouver and residents alike. Restaurant owners Chris Chatten and Amandah Delain named the restaurant after two Vancouver landmarks - the old golf course that was on the VanDusen Botanical Garden site in the 40s and 50s, and the surrounding neighbourhood, Shaughnessy. The restaurant appropriately reflects the tradition and distinction of both areas during that era. The menu, created by Chef David William Grimshaw, perfectly complements the surroundings - innovative, contemporary, and West Coast. Only the highest quality local ingredients are selected to serve - many of the organic vegetables come from the Garden itself.
