Our Optometrists
Mary-Kate Alliston
Dr. Mary-Kate Alliston grew up in Ancaster, Ontario and graduated from Western University with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Human and Animal Physiology and Biology (Co- operative Program). She then earned her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Waterloo School of Optometry and Vision Science in Waterloo, graduating with Distinction. Upon graduation, Dr. Alliston received the Dr. Stelios Nikolakakis Award for Clinical Excellence in Vision Therapy. Dr. Alliston has received training in contact lenses, pediatrics, ocular health and disease, dry eye management, pre and post-op cataract surgery and vision therapy. She had the privilege of completing her externship in ocular disease in the rural community of Cold Lake, Alberta, working alongside local optometrists and ophthalmologists to manage a wide variety of ocular conditions. She has a special interest in myopia control treatments for children, binocular vision as well as the management of ocular disease. Dr. Alliston is a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists, the Ontario College of Optometrists, and the Canadian Association of Optometrists. When Dr. Alliston is not in the office, she enjoys exercising, reading, camping, and catching up on TV shows. Dr. Alliston looks forward to meeting (more...)
Salsabeel Jadi
Dr. Salsabeel Jadi earned her Vision Science MSc from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry and Vision Science in 2013, where she specialized in the study of protein deposition on contact lenses. During her time there, she served as the Academy Student Liaison for the University of Waterloo Student Chapter, as well as on the Organizing Committee of the 2011-2012 Vision Science Research Seminar Series. She continued her studies at the University of Waterloo until 2017, when she received her Doctor of Optometry. Dr. Jadi is proud to provide comprehensive eye care at the FYidoctors - Kitchener-Waterloo clinic. She is also passionate about serving optometric care to underprivileged communities, and in 2014 she traveled to Honduras to provide humanitarian services. Outside the clinic, Dr. Jadi enjoys spending time with her husband and 2-year-old son. She also loves learning languages and playing basketball.
