Best tapas-style restaurants in Edmonton

If you come from a large family, sharing food and having a variety of options is something you’re familiar with. Tapas-style dining allows exactly that. You get to try a bunch of appetizers, and it breeds a fun and social atmosphere! Here is a list of some great places to try with friends and enjoy a lot of different foods in one night!

Tzin Wine & Tapas Ltd

1
10115 104 St NW, Edmonton, AB T5J 0Z9

Tzin is an intimate little wine bar that features a variety of Spanish tapas. It’s located right off of Jasper Avenue. The food here is really great and modern. The interior has interesting décor, and is definitely a great place to socialize with your friends. One thing I have to mention, though, is that this place is extremely small! Reservations are definitely recommended.

Bar Bricco

2
10347 Jasper Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5J 1Y5

Brought to you by Corso 32’s Daniel Costa, Bar Bricco is another modern little eatery that offers a variety of unique dishes. They offer many handmade pastas on their sputini menu. With many dishes to try, it’s best to come here with a few friends. I definitely recommend getting the tasting plate for both the salumi and the formaggi so you can try the variety of imported cheeses and meats! Delicious!

Ampersand 27

3
10612 82 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T6E 2A7

Located right on Whyte Avenue is a beautifully decorated restaurant called Ampersand 27. The interior is nice and spacious, with a modern touch and a newly renovated patio. You can easily custom order your charcuterie board with exactly what you want. They also have a variety of small plates for sharing. The maple butter pork belly melts in your mouth! Give this place a try.

Izakaya Tomo

4
3739 99 St NW, Edmonton, AB T6E 6J7

When people mention Japanese food, it doesn’t just have to mean sushi. There’s a whole world of Japanese tapas dishes offered at Izakaya Tomo. They offer many different kinds of hot, shareable dishes that can please everyone! Their takoyaki is one of the best that I’ve had in Edmonton. Everything is moderately priced so you can definitely get three to four dishes per person!

Glass Monkey

5
5842 111 St NW, Edmonton, AB T6H 3G1

The Glass Monkey offers many internationally inspired dishes. They offer both small plates and tapas for sharing and, for those who aren’t so big into sharing, some full entrées as well. This restaurant is versatile, and has a little bit to offer to everyone. The easiest thing to share is a charcuterie board and, at The Glass Monkey, the boards are pretty dynamic, so it’s always a good choice!

Sabor Divino

6
109-10220 103 St NW, Edmonton, AB T5J 0Y8

Bodega, a small tapas and wine bar, is the sister restaurant of Sabor. It’s located right at the main floor before the entrance of Sabor. They have a lovely little patio during the summer and, for the winter, the interior is nice and quaint with simple décor. The food at Bodega is reasonably priced, and you can definitely a few things to share amongst friends.

Three Boars Eatery

7
8424 109 St NW, Edmonton, AB T6G 1E2

If you like the idea of eating and supporting local restaurants, Three Boars Eatery is the place for you. They change their menu seasonally, depending on what ingredients are available in the markets. They like to serve sharing-style plates. This style of eating really is my favourite, because you get to try a little bit of everything, and it’s definitely necessary here to try a bit of everything!

Cavern

8
2-10169 104 Street NW, Edmonton, AB T5J 1A5

Cavern is a small and quaint little retail shop and bistro. They offer 75 to 100 artisanal cheese, which are all available for retail, as well. There is very limited seating, but it’s really a great little spot. They have signature charcuterie board that offers many of their cheeses. You can add foie gras, Genoa salami, and chorizo for extra. Definitely a nice hidden gem!

The food truck scene in Edmonton has only gotten better over the last few years. And, what with us being the city known for its numerous festivals, there is no better venue than outdoors to pig out and enjoy some delicious food from the food trucks on a beautiful summer day. This short list is only few of many delicious trucks to choose from! [Image credit: iStock.com/Maica]
The great thing about noodles is how universal and international it is. In almost all cuisines around the world, there is some sort of noodle or pasta dish. Here is a list of different kinds of noodles from different kinds of cuisines in the world, each with its own twist.
Going out to eat can be a bit restrictive if you’re vegetarian. Options are limited, but that doesn’t mean you can’t go out for some good food! These restaurants are some of my favourite places for some vegetarian food! [Image credit: iStock.com/haoliang]
