I am confused by the "American" designation, since it is clearly German, right down to the delicious spaetzle and red cabbage. (You can only get the red cabbage if you ask, it isn't on the menu.) The schnitzels are very good, with ample portions. (We have never tried the homemade desserts -- too full!) The meat is tender and set off well by the fine breading. My husband has tried every schnitzel on the menu, and has a hard time declaring a favourite - he enjoys them all. The coffee is very good, the warm bun that comes prior to the meal is a nice treat. The service is usually very pleasant. A little more than a standard lunch in terms of cost, but worth it. Read more

Not sure about the other reviewer, but after reading this review, I had to register and give an opinion on one of our favorite little take out places we know. We visit our cottage regularly about 2 kms from this "super" Chip Wagon, mostly in the summer months, and have many local friends who all rave about the food at George's (from what we understand, it's not the owner's name). The ice cream is great, and we order it EVERY time - judging by all the tall white ice cream bins and the ice cream menu sign out front, Reid's dairy is the supplier from Belleville. The burgers and fresh cut fries are fantastic, I'm not a fish lover, but our friends order their halibut fish & chips EVERY time we go. As for locals, our local friends said this place has been there for like 10-15 or more years, some of them claim to have gained weight from eating there so often, so have to disagree with the local opinion comments - though I guess any time you go to a small town, opinions will may vary! In our family opinion, it's a lovely place to eat, great atmosphere on the way to the local beaches and cottages, on a nice summer weekend. We would and have, recommended to anyone we know! Omg this place is an absolute Gem! My husband , myself and my mother inlaw were on our way from New Brunswick to Ontario. During a snow storm ( March 4th 2023) the owner G was amazing! The breakfast was the best I've ever had. The coffee is so so good! The customer service and hospitality we received here will be something we all talk and rave about forever!
