We have come every year in December from Hamilton to Simcoe to see the Christmas lights. We stop at the Barrel Restaurant first, and it is a highlight of our trip: excellent food, excellent atmosphere. There is a very large menu, so I know people can order what they want and sometimes get something different from what they want. Suffice to say that I find the Penne Capri on par with meals served in Italy, and my husband and in-laws refuse to order anything other than the lasagna because they enjoy it so much every time. I moved to Woodstock almost a year ago and I had heard great things about this place but had not gone until this past Saturday. Let me tell you the food was amazing. July 22 had an 86 th birthday dinner. I only now saw the bill I was having a problem with the card machine. Our server was the best I have ever been fortunate enough to meet. Her name was Christina. We loved her. Here is my big problem. I did not put the correct tip on the bill. I feel terrible. She deserved so much more. It was my first time there and loved it! I ordered the perch and fries (ate inside, so their great little buffet was included with my meal!) The perch was done to perfection, so tasty! The buffet was great, with the different salads and the amazing fruit to finish my meal off. I enjoyed the old pictures, so much history there! Our server was very friendly and most attentive. I will be back, I enjoyed it so much!

We had read reviews about this place and decided to visit it one night. We were definitely not disappointed! When we first walked in, we were seated right away. The decor was very nice and casual. Our server was so polite, we were impressed with his kindness. We then chose to eat from the Indian style buffet. It was so delicious! They had tons of foods to choose from, I loved it! We ordered East Sides for Mothers Day and we were not disappointed!! We usually don't order out on big holidays as we know everywhere is crazy busy but we decided to treat ourselves this year and are glad we did. Went here recently for a friday night out. Everything was perfect from the minute we walked in , until the minute we left. Our waitress, Maria , was outstanding. It was nice to walk in to a restaurant and be welcomed like family. We always enjoy the warm buns, it gives us something to munch on while waiting for our meal. We ordered the haddock and chips. The meal came out quick and piping hot. It was the best fish and chips we have had in recent memory. To top it off the apple crumble was exceptional. Kudos to Red Lobster and the staff for a job well done. Will be back soon.

Great little restaurant. I think the owner was there the day we were very ealy in the morning. Had the apple fritters to die for ... we loved it, after a long bike ride from Cambridge to Paris...it's just what the doctor ordered..
We were greeted and were welcomed as soon as we came in and this place is a little jem. We will go back again and again....keep in mind when you read these reviews, it's so much easier for many people in general to have a tendency to complain rather then to compliment. I attended Montana's Cookhouse with my Brother and Girlfriend last week and expected good quality food and service. I expected it because Montanas Cookhouse i widely recognized and I have also attended it before and loved it. I suggest coming here for a dinner or lunch because you receive great food for a low cost. I ordered chicken penne which was 15$ and a coke for 3$, so for under 20$ I received an excellent meal and fast service. The environment is loud and upbeat giving you a fun experience.
