Mama's Place is honestly the best pizza place anyone could look for. The service is amazing, with friendly waitresses, and a home-like feeling ambience. Not only the look of the place was amazing, but also the food. I have to say that the pizza is the best you will ever taste, crust is not to thin, or thick. Soft in the inside and crunchy on the outside. There is no dripping grease, lot's of cheese and everything taste fresh! I haven't tried all of there food ofcourse, but I am positive that they are just as deliciouse as the Pizza. Just put it as simply amazing. I would go there again, but sadly, I live hours away, just stopped in Almonte with my wife and one of our friends recommened Mama's Place, and we loved it! Read more

I recently retired from the GTA and moved to Lanark Highlands. We decided to try your restaurant last weekend. My girlfriend had the goulash and I had the schnitzel which was the second best I've ever had. The best was my late mother's. But you did come a very close second. The prices I found were reasonable and not overpriced as some patrons would lead you to believe. And if you complain about the wait, remember you're not eating at McDonalds. For years my family of four and I have been ordering food from Lucky Dragon by delivery. We shave been BEYOND impressed by our delivery service, the delivery man is ALWAYS on time with a huge smile on his face and over all positive and happy vibe. After telling our delivery man that we've never been inside the physical location before he suggested that we go in and eat, so the following week we did. We were automatically seated by an Asian lady with bright red hair, she seemed nice and greeted us with small talk etc,. When we were ready to order we had to wait sevrel minutes even though we were the only table, the Lady(whom seems to be the owner) was to preoccupied with her phone. When she finally came over, we had a couple questions and she seemed annoyed to be answering them. After we got our food a couple more tables came in and it got louder and she turned up the music, I called her over to ask if she could turn this Spanish repetitive dance music down a bit considering my two kids were getting a bit cranky and she rolled her eyes and shot a mean glare to my TODDLERS and kept the music at the same level. My cousin from Holland (owner of a travel agency) wanted a special menu with a capable Chef and a special place to celebrate his 50th Birthday on holiday in Canada. He found it in Slackoni's. The setting on the water was intimate and relaxed with music supplied by a classical guitarist. This was a multi-course meal and each was delivered with great presentation style and flavour. The group was delighted with anti-pasto dishes of vitello tomatol, smoked salmon, mini portabello mushrooms stuffed with shrimp and a mouth watering caprese salad. Moving inside to a cozy adjoining party room we were treated to a tasty seafood fettuccini pescatore. The main event was elk tenderloin in a maple bbq glaze. And for those who like desert, the ultimate..the zucotto "italian bomb cake" Amazing! As per the menu, the wine was also chosen to compliment each course. It was a great event and everyone was thrilled. Our european guests, so used to eating in Paris were very impressed! We found the staff to be very friendly and were glad to give us directions to the different places in town. The service was fast and the waitress was very polite and freindly.
