Atelier offers an interesting experience, with a blind, 13-course tasting menu and food created in a laboratory, not a traditional kitchen. Some examples of our tastings included flash-frozen coconut, flash-boiled bison, food prepared on an "anti-griddle", wafers made of dehydrated honey, etc.
Beyond that, I don't want to ruin the surprises, which really is what the experience is about.
Our party was there for about 4.5 hours. All 4 of us did the blind tasting and 2 of us also had the wine pairing option.
We were underwhelmed, despite going into the experience with great anticipation. The food was interesting but rarely tasty - only 4 or 5 of the 13 courses stand out as very tasty. The wine pairings were *very* poorly done, with only one truly successful pairing. For the price, we expected a far greater experience in terms of flavours and taste, although it was very interesting to experience familiar flavours in unusual preparations.
The service was attentive, friendly, informed, if sometimes a bit over-eager to impress.
A good experience to have but unfortunately not one that any of the 4 of us would repeat, and not one that I'd take a friend to for, say, a birthday treat.

My family came down from Montreal and Pembroke to celebrate the Christening of my granddaughter. We chose Tosca's because of the food and the service. The waiters were so friendly and paid attention to the needs of the clients. The food was delicious! We were a group of 24. I would definitely choose this venue as the place to host a party. The lunch menu is excellent, you can build your own or choose one of their many choices available.
My friend and I had the garlic shrimp (breaded) and the garlic grilled on a skewer, rice. I also had the cream of bacon and potato soup to die for and of course their cheddar corn biscuits complimentary with every meal.
The service is next to none, excellent food and price.
The bathroom facilities and overall restaurant are very clean. Lots of free parking onsite.
I recommend this restaurant.

The atmosphere is very nice in this restaurant, and the service was fast and friendly (thank you Lynn). Our meal choices appeared on our table in a timely manner and the food was delicious. Two thumbs up for Fiddleheads.

Consistently impressive Indian buffet. Always fresh and fantastic. My grandmother lives close by and we always go out to eat at this restaurant. I even had my graduation lunch here after I finished university. The atmosphere is clean and beautiful, restaurant is fabulously decorated. The owner is lovely and most of the servers have been there since I can remember; always smiling and on the ball, providing endless water and excellent service. My wife and i came here for a night out. We had been recomended the Brew Table by the concierge at the Holiday Inn down the street. We had the steak frites and it was incredible. Cooked perfectly and the service was the best i have ever recieved anywhere. An amazing dining experience all around from appetizer to dessert. Nice touches on their meals. Portions are not over sized, which is good if you don't want to overeat! I've had veal parmigiane (sp?) and the salmon with some unique sauce. The vegetables have been spectacular both times and like I said before, the presentation is pleasing. The house wine (by the glass) is decently priced and quite good. It is a bit pricey though. I would only go back for a very special occasion with my husband. It is a very romantic atmosphere. I am looking forward to going again.

I've had the pleasure of experiencing multiple sushi restaurants in Ottawa, but 168 Sushi in Merivale by far stands out from the rest in regards to the variety available and quality of taste. My fiance and I recommend this location to our friends and family, as well as taking advantage of their fast and effective delivery service. The buffet at both lunch and dinner is reasonably priced and it is very easy to get your money's worth out of the food.
Personal Highlights:
-Miso Soup
-Curry Chicken
-Mango and Crab Rolls
-Pork Dumplings
-Salmon Roses
The restaurant feels more like a night-club than a sushi buffet, but I have grown attached to the overall atmosphere. The service sometimes forgets to bring an item on the card you fill out once in a while, I recommend filling out one card per table for everyone instead of having each person fill out their own card at the same table to make it easier for the chefs (which you get to watch prep the food).
