Things to do for Labour Day long weekend in Toronto

CNE
Labour Day is your last chance to check out the CNE! Head down to Exhibition Place and make your way through all the rides, games and exhibits, not to mention the food! When else will you be able to snack on deep fried chicken feet, followed by a dessert that’s a brownie topped with cheesecake, a white chocolate sugar cone, a doughnut and cotton candy? And, don’t forget about the Air Show!

Brewers Backyard
Evergreen Brick Works toasts the long weekend with Brewers Backyard! It’s like spending the day relaxing on a patio, but better. You can’t beat the scenery at Brick Works! Local breweries are on site, like Exchange Brewery, Nickelbrook, Indie Alehouse and more. You can also grab some eats from FeasTO, Fidel Gastro and more.

Fan Expo Canada
Spend Labour Day weekend indulging your inner geek! Fan Expo is an annual fan convention for comics, sci-fi, fantasy, video games, anime, horror and more. You can shop for unique art, check out proper and memorabilia, dress up in cosplay and meet some of your favourite actors from shows like Stranger Things or The Walking Dead.

Waterfront Artisan Market
Toronto’s waterfront market is happening during the long weekend! You can head down by the ware and shop local vendors for items like jewelry, candles, clothes and more. There’s also food to sample and pick up from local farmers and chefs!

Shakespeare in High Park
It’s your last chance to check out Shakespeare in High Park — this summer anyway, they’ll be back for 2018! The outdoor Shakespeare production in High Park wraps up Labour Day weekend, with final performances of King Lear and Twelfth Night.

CNE Air Show
Don’t forget about the air show! Every Labour Day, jets fly over the CNE as our unofficial end of summer. The 68th Annual Canadian International Air Show will have The Canadian Harvards Aerobatic Team & the Canadian Forces Snowbirds take to the sky for impressive stunts, high-speed flights and unique formations.
When: September 2 to 4

Hot & Spicy Food Festival
It’s the 20th anniversary of the Hot & Spicy Food Festival! Head down to the Harbourfront Centre Labour Day weekend to sample all the spiciest, tangiest, hottest and zestiest foods your tastebuds could handle.
