Serving Hakka-style Indian Chinese cuisine, Taketomi Village's new take on classic Chinese dishes has been delighting diners in the Marlborough area since 2007. General manager Jessie Wu began working here part time while attending university in 2011.
“You get to meet all kinds of interesting characters everyday. It’s awesome,” Jessie says. “I took up the role of general manager after university because the staff are great and I like the work.”
Hakka-style Indian Chinese food is the Indian adaptation of traditional Hakka cuisine. Some favourites at Taketomi include their lollipop chicken wings, which are made from a secret recipe, the hot and sour soup and the chicken corn soup.
I brought some Chicken Hakka Noodles & Chilly Chicken yesterday. It tastes awful and I wouldn't recommend anyone to eat there. It was a terrible experience.
Really really bad service and food was even worse than the service. Would not recommend it to anyone. I'd rate it but even 1 star is too much for this. Looks like I can't leave the comment without a star so I have to give it a 1
Worst food I have ever had. We ordered 3 items. Their food taste & presentation , customer service; everything was really bad. That was my first and last visit to Hakka restaurant. I won't recommend to anyone to go there.
I've heard some negative reviews on some of the dishes from others, but the time we went, everything, and I mean EVERYTHING we ordered, was absolutely delicious! That was probably because we had consulted with some friends who already had been there before, and they gave us a list of what to order.
Although the outside of the restaurant doesn't look to fancy, the panelling and decor on the inside is beautiful! Great place, and halal! :)
