Based on the reviews of this place, we decided to give it a try. The restaurant is really small, probably only about 10 small tables. The servers are very kind and attentive. It was a tad confusing as we had about three different servers throughout our lunch. The sushi chefs were not very kind, they seemed a bit put out, as if they didn't enjoy where they were. The seaweed salad and miso soup are amazing! I loved the way they decorated the plate for the seaweed salad, very cute! The sushi was really good, it came out quickly and it tasted delicious. I highly recommend the K-Rock roll, it is deep-fried to perfection! The only thing is that the K-Rock roll is about $12.95, but for eight pieces, it isn't too bad. Our total came out to $83 for four people, a tad pricey but, we polished all of the sushi, it was that good! I highly recommend this place, not only is the food good, the servers are very kind. Awesome sushi!
I have been to Sima numerous times, and I don't understand the negative reviews for it. Compared to some of the dumps in Kingston selling "sushi" Sima is a haven. Everything is fresh, the service is extremely fast and friendly, and the food is absolutely delicious and presented beautifully. I have brought lots of friends there and no one has ever walked away less than extremely happy with their meal. Once I even ordered take out, and due to their being extremely busy my food was a bit later in coming than was told to me on the phone. In order to make up for it, not only did I get my customary tea as I waited for my food, they gave me a free order of edamame to make up for my wait! It doesn't get any better than that. Best sushi in Kingston, hands down.
I really like the taste of everything on menu and service there was amazing. However, I don't suggest anything include SPICY SALMON, eg, rock star, although the taste was the best in town, I always got sick after I had that. I think I will go again and avoid spicy salmon. Cheers
The service is really friendly, but the quality of the food is merely satisfactory. The rice was really dry and the makis were all very similar to each other. The miso soup was also very watery. The fish is really fresh though. I've tried this restaurant quite a few times to see whether I just caught them on a bad day, but this place is constant.
Best Sushi ever! By far one of the best sushi restaurants in Kingston. I've been here about a dozen times and have never had a bad experience. The sushi is always fresh and so delicious! The waitresses and sushi chefs are always very nice. They always greet you when you come in and leave. The service and food is prepared very quickly.
I was skeptical since I had yet to find a truly enjoyable sushi place in Kingston, but this was delicious. My girlfriend and I got takeout, and it was a great experience. The atmosphere is lovely, with exposed limestone and simple, understated decor. Spotless and classy. We were greeted by a very friendly server, who offered us tea while we waited for our takeout. We are both vegetarian, and the server and the chef were both very accommodating with our requests for specific ingredients in our rolls. I thought the tea was a nice touch, and we were made to feel very comfortable while waiting for our orders. Everything was delicious. The rolls and sushi were perfect--a great ratio of filling to rice. The soup was light and savory, and the sushi itself was incredible--absolutely packed with flavour. Needless to say we were very impressed, and will definitely return for our sushi fixes.
