I visited Woodenheads for the first time today as an office lunch. I think that the food may be an acquired taste for some and though most things are at least a bit spicy, it is still quite good. The service was amazing. I have never received service that good at any other restaurant. Water was automatically brought to us while we decided what we wanted to drink and to wait for the rest of our party. Before our wine glasses and water glasses were empty, they were topped up without even having to ask. As we finished each course of our meals, our dishes were promptly removed. Very polite, accommodating and friendly waitstaff. Even if I didn't like the food, I would still go back for the service! Service like this is almost obsolete nowadays.
I have eaten at the Heads numerous times, and I must say...I have never been anything but pleased with the outcome. Thanks, keep it up!
This place is so good and now that I no longer live in Kingston, I make an effort to go here when I visit. Awesome atmosphere and friendly staff. It is pretty busy all the time because it is fairly small but well worth it! Try the lumpia diavolo spring rolls or the Nonna Mela pizza, my favourites.
Pros: Innovative and tasty gourmet thin crust pizzas at reasonable prices ($9-14 for most). Also very good "non-pizza" dishes. Low-lit ambiance for couples and is a reliable "date" restaurant, although often it is quite busy and noisy. Generally very attractive servers. Cons: Very attractive servers can be a problem if you're on a date. The restaurant is often VERY busy and requires reservations. Can be very loud on Friday and Saturday nights. Overall: Great date place (pizza is easy to share). Try to avoid the crowds on Friday or Saturday nights, for a quieter atmosphere. For a change, go just for the desserts and try either the Apple Pizza or the Pear Calzone. Both are excellent, and offer large portions for very reasonable dessert prices! You'll miss the crowds, get a delicious dessert for a good price and enjoy the quieter atmosphere. In warmer months, try the back patio which is heated.
Great spot. Modern and lively without being noisy and congested. LOOOOVE the spring rolls and brie in phyllo pastry. Ask the server about which pizzas he/she recommends; they've usually tried many. Hey, if I worked there, I would be eating there all the time, too!
