Made me pay for food that smelled and tasted like dog food, and made me feel like I was a monster for saying that I was sorry that I couldn’t eat it
I ordered the liver and bacon. The food was good. However the portion was so small, about the size of a meat patty considering that liver is so inexpensive to buy. I pointed that out to the server when I paid for my meal and her reply was "do you know what you would pay for the same meal at another restaurant?" Well, I do; a lot less. I order liver at several restaurants and yes, I do pay one or two dollars more but in return I get about four times more than the size served by Al's Diner on Clyde Ave. The server told me that I could get an extra piece of liver for an additional four dollars. Really. That would make it the most expensive liver in any restaurant in Ottawa.
Great food, i go for breakfast usually a couple times per month, very tasty and fast service. Highly recommend Al's diner, another perk would be that they have all day breakfast !! Enjoy!!!!!!!!!

Breakfast is quick and deliciously greasy at Al’s Diner. Al’s Big Hit wraps everything you love about breakfast into one big meal. It brings their Good Morning Special (eggs and choice of bacon, ham or sausage) together with your choice of a pancake or French toast (topped with syrup and butter). It really doesn’t get any better than that.

Topped with hollandaise and served with your choice of home fries, baked beans or a tomato slice, the classic bennie is still your best bet, with two poached eggs over an English muffin and ham.
