Highland Packers is a family business that was started by my uncles when they first came over from The Netherlands in 1957. In 2002 my cousin, who was then in charge, added the current store to the facility. In 2005 I became the owner of Highland packers and since then, together with my wife and now also with our 4 children and the whole staff are actively involved to run this business. Highland is a meat processing plant under the inspection of the Ontario government. We bring in the livestock that gets processed into steaks, roasts, burgers, sausages, bacon, hams and more. We have our own sausage kitchen and use natural wood to smoke our products. You can also buy roasting pigs from us to roast yourselves. In our store we focus on selling Canadian meat and local produce. We work closely with local growers. Our store also has a bakery, deli and cafe where we make home-style meals. Please come and visit. On behalf of my family and staff I say "thank you" Marinus de Jonge.more...See more text
My husband and I have gone to highland packers twice now...we have found the staff in the main store(meatcounter staff etc.) to be most helpful and friendly but..both times we ate lunch in their lunch section..something we will never do again...both times the staff there was very rude to say the least...different ladies both times..but all rude and abrupt
The last time(Tuesday this week) we ordered banquet burgers..the bacon was burned to a crisp and my burger was not cooked thru..
My family has been shopping at Highland Packers from the time they first came to Canada in the 60's. My family and relatives still shop Highland Packers. A true old world meat market and butcher shop.
