Step into this trendy Old Montreal temple of cured meats for an evening of charcuterie and wine pairings. Lyon-inspired platters will be married with Beaujolais wines from the same area, creating the perfect destination for an afternoon snack, happy hour or pre-dinner stop.- $32 before wine
When a restaurant has whole prosciuttos hanging in the window, you would expect their menu to be heavy on the meat. And while Hambar doesn’t disappoint in this respect, it also has plenty of pasta dishes to choose from, we love their gnocchi with mushrooms and prosciutto. The gnocchi are made small and light, with plenty of mushrooms and salty prosciutto. Hambar also has a duck confit “carbonara” with pappardelle, and, when in season, a squash ravioli.
Located on the ground floor of the Hôtel Saint-Paul, Hambar serves as more of a wine bar than a restaurant. The establishment specializes in cured meats and offers, among other items, pata negra ham. The wine list has expanded, with some great bottles of Burgundy and Bordeaux on the list.
